Dishwasher leaving water behind
A small amount of water may remain in some dishwashers by design, but standing water covering the tub floor after a cycle can point to a drainage problem. Note how much water is left and whether the machine displayed an error before trying these safe checks.
Check the cycle and filter
Make sure the programme completed and the appliance is not paused. If your manual describes a user-cleanable filter, remove and rinse it as directed. Avoid sharp tools and do not reach into the drain area.
Look for visible hose issues
If the drain hose is visible and safely accessible, check for a kink or crushing. Do not pull out a built-in dishwasher or disconnect the hose or plumbing. If water is leaking onto the floor, stop the cycle and turn off the water supply if it is safe to do so.
Try one drain or cancel cycle
Use the cancel or drain function only as described in the manufacturer?s manual. If the pump hums loudly, the cycle will not drain, or an error returns, stop repeated attempts and arrange an inspection.
When to arrange a repair
Contact a technician if standing water remains after the recommended checks, the dishwasher leaks, trips power, or produces an unusual smell or noise. Share the brand and model, error code, and whether water remains after every cycle.
